The JAMB Approved Cut-Off Marks For 2022/2023 Admissions

For JAMB,  after the conclusions of examinations in the month of May 2022, they have announced cut-off marks for 2022/2023 admissions.  JAMB Cut-off mark is a minimum mark (score) a candidate is required to have to be eligible for admissions at any tertiary institutions such as : monotechnics, polytechnics, colleges of education and universities.

JAMB  Cut-off marks vary according to institutions, the universities especially federal (public) universities carry the highest JAMB cut-off marks while the colleges of education carry the least cut-off marks.

JAMB Cut-off Marks For Universities 2022/2023

JAMB has set the cut-off marks for universities to be at a minimum of 140. With this set of cut-off marks, the universities have permission to raise their cut-off marks beyond 140 but not below.

This means any candidate applying for any university, must have at least a score of 140 in JAMB, also the candidate must take into consideration the cut-off marks released by the university when the Post-UTME screening form is released,  as they have the permission to set the cut-off point as appointed by JAMB or raise it to desired marks but not lowered against the stipulated 140 appointed by JAMB.

JAMB Cut-off Marks For Polytechnics 2022/2023

For Polytechnics, the decided cut-off marks by JAMB have been stipulated to be nationally at a minimum of  100. This means all Polytechnics have the permission to maintain the fixed 100 or increase the cut-off mark accordingly to suit their admission quota. So, candidates who chose the polytechnics either as their first choice of institution or second choice of institution and scored above 100, should have in mind that they are eligible to apply for the institution when the screening form is released.

JAMB Cut-off Marks For College of Education 2022/2023

For Colleges of Education, the cut-off marks have been fixed at a minimum of 100. This minimum cut-off mark of 100 can be raised by any College of Education, but not reduced below 100 which was stipulated by JAMB at the policy meeting.

Professor Ishaq Oloyede, the JAMB Registrar said “Institutions have the liberty to determine their cut-off marks but must not be below the cut-off agreed at the policy meeting”

After the release of cut-off marks for institutions done by JAMB, for institutions to adopt and use for admission processes, the sales of Post-UTME screening forms will commence by federal (public) institutions.
